Call for proposals for funding under DST sponsored i-TBI of Sanskriti Technology Incubation Foundation at Sanskriti University, Mathura
Applications are invited for funding of start-ups under DST sponsored i-TBI of Sanskriti Technology Incubation Foundation at Sanskriti University, Mathura. Ignition Grant (grant- in – aid) will be provided to innovators/ start-ups to convert their ideas into prototype/ products that have potential for commercialization in the areas of AGRICULTURE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY. The maximum funding support to innovators/ start-ups will be up to 10 lakhs. The final grant amount is subjected to the approval of the screening and monitoring committee.
General Criteria:
- Nature of the Grant: The Ignition Grant will support the development of a prototype or product.
- Technology Focus: The ideas and innovations must be based on technology and science.
- Physical Product: The prototype must be a physical product.
- Commercialization Plan: The idea or innovation must have a clear roadmap towards commercialization.
- Timeframe: The prototype must be completed within 12 to 14 months.
- Applicant Type: Applicants can be individual innovators or early-stage startups.
- Intellectual Property (IP): Any IP generated must vest with the innovator or the startup.
- Ownership and Know-how: Applicants should own the project know-how or IP or have the right to use third-party IP or know-how.
- Technical Skills: Innovators should have the relevant technical skills or background in the field.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Individual Innovator: the individual innovator without having a start-up or founder of a start-up can apply for ignition grant
- The applicant must be an Indian Citizen with government-approved proof of nationality (valid passport, voter ID, etc.).
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old as of the date of application.
2. Co-founder of a Startup
- The applicant must be an Indian Citizen with government-approved proof of nationality (valid passport, voter ID, etc.).
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old as of the date of application.
- The startup must be incorporated in India with at least 51% equity held by Indian citizens.
- The startup must have been in existence for not more than 2 years.
- The startup must have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 25 lakhs for any of the financial years since inception.
3. Exclusions
The following will not be considered for the Ignition Grant:
- Projects related to Pure Software Development, E-commerce, Service Solutions, or App-based Solutions.
- Research Funding or student internships in academic institutions or R&D organizations.
- Proposals for products that have already crossed the prototype stage.
Guidelines for Usage of Funds:
The Ignition Grant can be used for the following purposes:
- Outsourcing Charges: For R&D, design engineering, consultancy, testing, or expert costs
- Raw Materials and Consumables: Necessary for prototype development
- Fabrication/Synthesis: Charges related to the creation of working models or processes
- Business Travel & Event Participation: Up to 10% of the approved project cost
- Patent Filing Costs (PCT): Up to 10% of the approved project cost
- Contingency: Up to 10% of the approved project cost
The Ignition Grant will not be used for:
- Payment to grantee or their relatives.
- Repayment of pre-existing loans or other commitments of the innovator.
- Creation of infrastructure facilities such as rent, sheds, movable property, or permanent infrastructure.
- Support for other professional pursuits.
Application Process
Innovators or startups can apply for the Ignition Grant. The last date for submitting a proposal is 17 March 2025. The proposal should outline the innovation, prototype development timeline, and a detailed plan for commercialization. Applicants should ensure compliance with the guidelines to avoid delays or rejections.
