Santhigiri MoU – providing faculty as well managing our Ayurveda hospital
Santhigiri Ashram works under the vision of revitalizing life through spiritual, cultural, social and economic elements together. They follow the theme of a global spiritual and cultural renaissance in harmony with material progress. Apart from imparting important philosophies to people, it also serves humankind in every way possible. Some of it includes offering free food, healthcare, Athmaboditam (spiritual Awakening) and aiding in economic development with their initiative of supporting women and cottage industry programs, it also functions as a training centre where people can either stay or visit the ashram and help themselves flourish in the teachings of the Guru. The ashram is renowned for its ayurvedic techniques and healing methods. We have collaborated with them to help our students learn about Ayurveda in a very different manner. Their doctors also help train our medical students in authentic ayurvedic medicines and sharpen their knowledge in Ayurveda.
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (B.A.M.S. Ayurvedacharya), is a 5.5 years course including a compulsory internship program. We cover all the topics ranging from modern anatomy, physiology, principles of medicine to Botany, ENT, principles of surgery etc along with a comprehensive study of key Ayurveda subjects. The making of herbal drugs, their causes and effects are also covered. Students who have a keen interest in knowing the ancient science of healing are encouraged to join a course which not only helps their interest to deepen but also enables them to actually master the science of Ayurveda. We also run a hospital with 100 beds within the campus, with all departments operating from the hospital under the holy guidance of the scholars from Santhigiri Ashram. The program is also well approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) under AYUSH, a national regulatory body that regulates the Indian Ayurvedic education system.
At Sanskriti University, we believe that Ayurveda has the power to heal people beyond the skin. It can heal the soul if we let it. The 5,000-year-old science is now a globally accepted method to holistically heal the troubled. The subtle yet effective drugs help in the process by providing multiple benefits and almost no side-effects. Eventually, we will see the world using more of Ayurveda and less of the harsh drugs. Together with Santhigiri ashram, we are set to create the future of ayurvedic medicine with our exceptionally gifted group of ayurvedic professionals. We are delighted to collaborate with them and foster a world filled with ayurvedic goodness. Fortunately, our course is doing very well and our students are healing several people every day. We are eternally grateful to Santhigiri for their support and to our students for their strong faith in the traditional health care system.
