The population of the world is increasing at an increasing rate. India is one of the most populous country of the world. The employment opportunities are increasing at an increasing rate for the teachers. Bachelor of Education is a very popular course among the students who intend to become a teacher in primary and secondary schools.

The advent of internet technologies is also increasing the demand of trained teachers to teach various courses online. The demand for teachers in increasing at the national as well as international level. The demand for online teachers and virtual teaching is increasing in India and abroad apart from the increasing demand of trained teachers for doing regular teaching in the class. The increasing demand of trained teachers is attracting more and more students to join B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. Programmes.

The most advantageous aspect of this profession is that the students are getting good employment opportunity at good salary package and get lot of respect in this profession.

This profession also enables a person to keep themselves updated about the latest developments happening in the environment and the surroundings. This also provides career growth opportunities for the teachers at their personal level also. Teachers are expected to keep themselves abreast with the changing times, technologies and the environment. It is important for the teachers to be tech savvy to teach the students of new generation. If the teachers are aware about the latest technological tools, it become easier for them to help the students by leveraging e-learning platforms.

The teachers of the modern era are expected to make the process of teaching and engaging and also to enhance the overall experience of teaching, learning and assessment. Teachers are also expected to motivate and inspire the students and to become a role model for their students. Teachers who make their lectures teaching interesting and engaging are more successful in comparison to other teachers.

More and More Job Opportunities in India and Abroad

The job opportunities for teachers are increasing in the government as well as the private schools in India and abroad. The teachers are also getting employment opportunity in Yoga, Dance, Foreign Language, Sports, Special Education, Arts, Nursery Teaching and various other allied areas. The teachers can teach the nursery classes, primary classes, secondary classes, senior secondary classes, special education classes etc. depending on their taste, preferences, and teaching orientation.

India has large amount of schools in the private sector in comparison to those available in the Government Sector. The various cities in India have large number of public schools which provide large employment opportunities.

Some students appear for NET /JRF exam being conducted by the NTA i.e. National Testing Agency. The students who qualify the NET / JRF exam become eligible to join PhD programme and/ or become an Assistant Professor in college / university / higher educational institution in India and abroad. India has over 14 lac schools and over 36 thousand higher educational institutions in form of degree colleges. The ration of public schools to private schools is almost 7:5 in the state of Bihar.

The demands for schools meant for differently abled children is also increasing an increasing rate due to increasing health complexities among children of modern era.

The students can make a career in imparting teaching to differently abled students by pursuing B.Ed. Special Education. The B.Ed. Special Programmes are approved by Rehabilitation Council of India.

Teaching job opportunities are available in schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, private universities, state and central universities.

Gradually the teachers are becoming more and more technology centric.

The schools and colleges are using and leveraging learning management systems like Moodle, Sakai, Claroline, Docebo, Blackboard and many others. The young generation teachers have started adopted reading more of ebooks than the physical books.

The teachers have also been working in the part time to train the students for various competitive examinations.
