Mathura-based Sanskriti School of Tourism and Hospitality recently hosted a webinar on post-pandemic challenges faced by the hospitality and tourism sector.

The webinar was aimed at assessing the impact of the COVID-19 on India’s hospitality and tourism sector, and addressing relevant topics such as current condition of the sector, challenges and future prospects.

Keynote speaker Ratan L Sahu, principal, Dewan IHM, Meerut, said, “In such a situation, the hospitality sector is seeking more support from the government to stay afloat. The industry is pinning its hopes on the revival of domestic travel after the waning of the third wave. Stepping up to understand the changing consumer behaviour and adopting new practices will be essential to the recovery of the hospitality sector.”

“The global health crisis offers a unique opportunity to rethink prevailing business models in the hospitality space. The idea is to develop experiences that satisfy the domestic needs of the communities. We need to focus on reducing losses rather than making profit. Adaptability is the key for survival and those who are seizing this opportunity are further enabling the inclusive and sustainable growth of the sector,” he added.
